Moisture measuring of Wood chips

In the production of wood pellets the chopped wood gets dried, shredded and finally pressed. If the residual moisture isn't like it should be, the hammer mill gets clogged, the pellet mill gets over-heated and the wood pellets crumble. Furthermore the drier can be controlled more precisely and efficient. Based on the great difference of the wood pieces (size and shape) the material is difficult to measure. We recommend the use of our compaction unit SFM1_Hack. Like shown on this picture the SFM1_Hack collects the wood chips and compacts the material through a pneumatic cylinder. The integrated ACO sensor now is able to deliver a precise measuring result.

Well integrated moisture measurement for detecting the residual water content of wood chips. The moisture sensor is integrated in a compaction unit in a free material fall of a pellet plant.
