Mineral products primarily include sand, gravel, quartz sand, bentonite, etc. Whether in the production of ready-mixed concrete, dry mortar or in the foundry industry, the residual moisture content of the aggregates is a key quality factor. Normally, all these mineral materials are stocked as free-flowing granules (i.e. as sand or gravel). Consequently, the chute and the conveyor belt have proven to be good locations for installing the moisture sensor. Measurement in the aggregate silo is also regularly used, whilst measurement directly in the mixer is less common.
